About the Role
Applications are invited for a full time adult non-invasive cardiologist for up to one year. A specialist interest in cardiac imaging, specifically echocardiography is an advantage. This post will support vacancies in the general cardiology service due to maternity leave and delayed permanent appointments. Auckland City Hospital is one of the leading hospitals in Australasia.
Our department comprises 23 cardiologists, and provides tertiary and quaternary cardiology services to the central Auckland population, the Northern Region and New Zealand. This position will contribute to the provision of acute care on the cardiology wards, referrals and outpatient clinics, and the echocardiography service (if suitably qualified).

Skills and experience
Qualified adult cardiologist. Subspecialty training in non-invasive imaging specifically echocardiography is desirable.
You must hold FRACP (or equivalent international qualification) and be registered or be eligible for general registration as a Medical Officer with the Medical Council of New Zealand (www.mcnz.org.nz).

Auckland City Hospital Cardiology Department provides expertise in all sub-specialties in adult cardiology including coronary intervention, intervention for structural heart disease (including TAVR), complex electrophysiology, cardiac transplantation and adult congenital cardiology. We provide adult cardiology and cardiac surgery for South Pacific Island patients, in particular Tahiti.
Our echocardiography department performs over 10,000 echocardiograms a year with 2D / 3D capabilities, exercise and pharmacological stress echo and TOE. Our CT and MRI programmes are rapidly expanding with coronary, electrophysiology and structural programme.
