Our company provides specialist food, hospitality and support services to residents and patients in hospitals and senior living facilities throughout New Zealand. We work hard to achieve patient satisfaction, quality, nutrition and health and safety.
We are looking for an enthusiastic Weekend Cook to join our team at our Senior Living site in Royal Oak. Hours of work are part time Saturday and Sunday (10.00AM to 6.30PM).
In this position, you will be responsible for cooking, preparing and serving quality meals for the residents, according to dietitian specifications and ensuring the quality of every dish we serve! You will be supervising staff, managing the day to day operations, monitoring and maintaining food safety compliance including company compliance processes and proactively dealing with food related issues and concerns.
This position requires a person with leadership skills and a person who takes pride in personal presentation and cleanliness of the kitchen. A friendly and helpful nature is important to us, the residents and client.
If you’re our perfect candidate you will be a team player, have a high standard of presentation, with a friendly outgoing personality and a ‘can do’ attitude.
You will already have some experience working in a commercial kitchen, be familiar with bulk food cooking and requirements in an aged care environment and ideally you will hold a food safety certificate (Unit Standard 167) or be happy to train for one.
You will need to have the ability to work independently and confidently but most importantly you will demonstrate a passion for great food, customer service and quality.
