At CountiesManukau Health our shared vision is to work in partnership with our communitiesto improve the health status of all, with particular emphasis on Maaori andPacific peoples and other communities with health disparities.
Our community team provides comprehensive mentalhealth assessment, treatment and recovery support for Tangata Whaiora/ServiceUsers in the Mangere and Otara community.
In this role you will work within our culturallydiverse community, providing peer support, and recovery coaching to people whoare working towards their mental health recovery. You will be supportingpeople in the location of their choice: their home, in a clinical setting or alocation in the community. You will also be involved in the facilitationof recovery group programmes.
Workdays are Monday to Friday within the hours 8am- 5pm (Part-time and Full-time positions available).
To be successful in this position you will have thefollowing specific training, skills and attributes:
Peer Support Training Certificateis essential
Completed a programme in Wellness Recovery Action Planning (WRAP) or similar
An ability to apply the Peer Support approach
An understanding of recovery concepts, pathways and values
Excellent verbal, written and computer literacy skills
Knowledge and understanding of the Treaty of Waitangi and its application to health
A full clean driver’s licence is essential
