About the role:
Reporting to the Project Manager/Engineer Invercargill, you will be the sole charge responsible electrician in Invercargill (and be part of a greater team throughout the South Island consisting of electricians, apprentice electricians, technicians, project managers, 3 waters technicians and engineers etc) to deliver outstanding quality, service and performance to our clients related to water and ITS assets, maintenance, upgrades & builds. The opportunity to be mentored and to mentor so as to develop yourself and others. This is a wide-ranging field role and involves working with electrical, controllers, communications, cellular & radio modems, water assets, pumps, flow and level sensors, traffic signals and the like. Key duties include servicing and maintenance of water and wastewater electrical assets in various schemes within the Southland District area including the telemetry, data collection, and control networks, together with these duties we envisage this role will involve occasional overnight stays in Te Anau for example to support the growing ITS business in this area.
About You:
We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:
National Certificate in Electrical Engineering – Electrician for Registration. Must be a New Zealand registered Electrician and have a current Electricians practising license with the EWRB.
Must be able to work alone from time to time and be able to manage your own time.
Experience in one or more of the following PLC/RTU/SCADA systems a distinct advantage… Alan Bradley, Campbell Scientific, Kingfisher, Schneider or Siemens.
Able and willing to complete essential safety, work job sheets and timesheets on a daily basis.
Flexibility is essential – as there is an occasional requirement to travel and stay away from home.
An on-call roster operates, you will be expected to part of the on-call roster.
A mechanical and technically inclined mind

Solid computer skills and exposure to a wide variety of computer applications
A current full Class 1 drivers licence
The successful candidate will have strong electrical experience with experience in industrial electrics, electronics and some programming ability an advantage and be able to fault find program issues.
Additionally, you will be involved in various renewals and upgrades, workload allocation and planning forward work and liaising between sub-contractors and staff on the ground driving service delivery and quality to ensure KPI's are met.
