We are looking for energetic, motivated and friendly Therapy Assistants to join our Allied Health Therapy team at Auckland Hospital for permanent full time and part time positions. This is a great opportunity to start your career in health care or develop it further within the Allied Health specialties.
The role
Working as part of a large team, you will be supporting the Allied Health Therapists to deliver care to patients and the key responsibilities will include:-
• assisting the therapists to help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals
• working with patients 1:1 and facilitating groups
• carrying out rehabilitation plans
• assisting with equipment tracking and general cleaning of equipment
• day-to-day administrative tasks

About you
As theideal personfor this role, you will have the following skills and attributes :-
• Experience of working with people from a wide range of ages and cultures
• An understanding of rehabilitation, illness and disability
• Enjoy working as part of a team
• Excellent communication skills
• Physically fit
• Basic computer skills.
• Health Care Assistant Level 4 qualification or equivalent desirable but not essential
• a clean, full NZ driving licence (manual driving skills preferable)

• Acute Medical
• Cancer and Blood
• Cardiac Specialities
• Emergency, Trauma and Intensive Care
• General Medicine
• Geriatrics - rehabilitation and reablement
• Neurology, Stroke and Neurosurgery
• Orthopaedics
• Surgery, Transplants and ORL

All the above specialities for Paediatrics are located in the Paediatric Team based in Starship Child Health
