I am currently assisting one of our clients locate two Finance Business Analysts for their Finance Team in Wellington Central. These roles are both Fixed Term for 6 months to begin with, with a high possibility of permanency or extension.
These positions play a crucial part in the running of both the Accounting function and the overall organisation and its various units.
To be successful in this position one must have the Accounting / technical competence, combined with the ability to build lasting and strong relationships internally. Business Analyst by title, many of the requirements and duties for these roles are that of a Management Accountant/ Business Partner.
Key areas:
A high level of spreadsheeting skills
Financial Analysis skills
Comfortable working with and communicating Costing Models
Ability to ask the right questions in order to extract the right data / information from various stakeholders.
Ability to work under pressure / quickly change tasks when required
Ability to assist in turning Business Cases around quickly /meet tight timeframes
Other tasks and prerequisites:
Confident and able to work without direction and supervision.
Highly numerate with excellent analysis skills.
Good conceptual thinking, problem solving, decision-making and implementation skills.
Strong business & commercial acumen and good understanding of modern business management and financial analysis techniques.
Ability to effectively communicate technical financial information to experts or non-financial audiences.
Demonstrated understanding of the economic, political, social and cultural context in which the Police operates.
In depth knowledge and understanding of financial and business processes and systems.
