About the Role
We need a Digital Channels all-rounder to join our join our busy and dynamic team.
You will be helping to run the Ministry's social media channels, working as a team with the Senior Digital Advisor and social media coordinator. You will need a broad range of skills like digital content writing, graphics design and video editing to make content that pushes the boundaries for Government Social Media. We need to connect with people on an emotional level, and create campaigns that change individual and collective behaviour.
You will also work across our other Digital Channels: mfe.govt.nz, the intranet and digital tools for consultation and customer relationship management. You'll need to be a can-do person, who is tech-savvy and loves learning new digital tools. You'll get satisfaction out of advising MfE staff how to use digital to connect with New Zealanders and each other.
Understanding our audiences through analytics and user research is a core part of the Digital and Insights team's work. You will employ your web and social analytics, and user testing to develop insights to share with the team. We'll use these insights to understand our audiences, measure our progress, and work out how we can make things better.
We need to be digitally inclusive, build te ao Maori into our work, and keep people's information safe. And if you can write digital content in te reo Maori, you will help take our digital channels to the next level.

Skills and Experience
Our ideal candidate will offer:
Experience running social media campaigns for organisations
Experience in creating and writing digital content
Excellent technical knowledge of social media channels for organisations including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and LinkedIn
Excellent technical knowledge in using web content management systems
Experience analysing social media and web metrics to capture and share audience insights
Understand how to create accessible content
Excellent customer service to all our internal clients
Experience making recommendations and influencing on issues relating to digital channels.
Experience with user research and testing
A genuine team player, with experience applying Agile values and principles,
Positive can-do attitude, helping to enable a diverse and inclusive culture
About the Team
The Digital and Insights team manage social media, web, intranet and our consultations tool. We work closely together in an Agile way, to connect our work and better support the Ministry. Our culture is collaborative, creative and fun.
