Job Description

Provide high calibre support to Managers and teams within Provincial Development Unit (PDU)
Permanent position
Based in Wellington CBD
Play a key part in building New Zealand's future
The Provincial Development Unit (PDU) has been established to be the focal point within Government for regional economic development, and to design and implement the Provincial Growth Fund (PGF).
Through the PGF central government has committed to investing $1billion per annum over 3 years in regional economic development with the aim to lift productivity potential in the provinces. Its priorities are to enhance economic development opportunities, create sustainable jobs, enable Maori to reach their full potential, boost social inclusion and participation, build resilient communities, and help meet New Zealand's climate change targets.
To achieve this aim, we are seeking talented, organised and resilient individuals who can support our leaders as they navigate high profile and fast-moving environments. Two individuals are sought to support managers and their teams.
Working in a dynamic and changing environment, you will be responsible for diary management, monitoring all communication, preparation of documentation, arranging travel, event management, organising external and internal appointments, and working with the wider support team.
Why work for us
MBIE is one of New Zealand's largest, most influential and most diverse public sector agencies. This means that we are able to offer significant opportunities for developing experience across a broad variety of areas. We aim to create a culture where our people are empowered to bring fresh perspectives to issues and to develop new approaches.
We also take the time to create a work environment that is enjoyable for all. This means we like to have fun but at the same time we take responsibility for our actions, encourage excellence and proactively support development.
