The Manager Medium Intensity Programmes is one of three key management roles within the Service Development Group responsible for the on-going high quality design, delivery, and governance for the medium risk suite of offender rehabilitation programmes.

The occupant of this position has the opportunity to make a difference – to shape up the future of offender rehabilitation programmes in the Department. With National oversight of programme delivery this role ensures a consistent approach to programmes and has responsibility for reviewing the overall quality of programme provision.

Key accountabilities encompass planning and delivering management; developing a professional workforce of programme facilitators, evaluation and monitoring of provision of programmes, continuous improvement of rehabilitation programmes, leadership and people management.

You will be required to utilise your tikanga and Te Reo knowledge and skills to enhance the cultural effectiveness of rehabilitation programmes.

Strong leadership skills and intellectual savvy are imperative as you will proactively work with Corrections regional teams, other departmental managers, external agencies and providers to ensure that rehabilitative programmes and interventions are designed and delivered in alignment with Corrections’ wider objectives.

To be effective in this role you will have a very good understanding of programme design and development and be adept at leading large-scale programmes of work in a high-profile portfolio. The ability to manage relationships with a wide range of agencies, while representing Corrections’ aspirations to foster best practice approaches to offender rehabilitation, is crucial.
