We're looking for a Designer to join us at AIA New Zealand to support the Senior Graphic Designer and Creative Studio Manager on a 1 year fixed term contract. This will range from setting design direction to creating templates and designing key marketing assets.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce marketing material, both print and digital, that supports AIA New Zealand’s brand and products.
Interpret stakeholders' business needs to develop designs fit to purpose.
Assist in the development of processes and systems as required by the Creative Studio Manager as part of a continuous improvement program.
Think creatively to produce new ideas and innovate to redefine design briefs within the constraints of time and budget.
Keep abreast of emerging technologies, design trends and research.
Work collaboratively within teams throughout the company.
Help develop and foster a creative culture and be a user-centred design advocate.

About you:

You'll have previous experience at an intermediate level in a similar design role, with knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles.

Technical skills and knowledge required for the role include:
Competent user of mainstream design software e.g. Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Dreamweaver and Acrobat.
Understanding of print production processes e.g. Offset, Digital and Screen-printing.
Understanding of mobile/web production processes e.g. responsive/adaptive design and HTML/CSS.
Understanding of usability and accessibility requirements.

Role related experience:
Intermediate level experience in a similar design role.
Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Hands on experience of the application of user centred design methodologies to improve user experience.

Qualifications:
Appropriate design qualifications (ideally minimum of two year diploma of Computer Graphic Design, Web Design or equivalent).
