Job briefWe are looking for a professional line cook to prepare food to the chef’s specifications and to set up stations for menu. Line cook duties consist of assisting the chef with their daily tasks. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction as well as meeting all heath and safety standards.ResponsibilitiesSet up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staffAnswer, report and follow chef’s instructionsClean stations and ensure all close down procedures are followedParticipate with stock inventory as requestedEnsure food comes out simultaneously, to chef's standards and in a timely fashionComply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standardsMaintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customersRequirementsProven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cookExcellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and proceduresAccuracy and speed in executing assigned tasksFamiliar with industry’s best practicesCulinary school diploma or equivalent is a plus but not necessaryLegally eligible to work in NZ through 22 April 2020.This role requires the successful candidate to live on site during rostered shifts.
