The successful candidate will be at the top of their game as an Estimator. You will be able to provide advice, coaching and mentoring to Junior Estimators and be well versed the details of Commercial Estimating. This role includes developing budgets for a wide variety of projects including new builds, refurbishments, re-clads and fit-outs in all industry sectors.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and co-ordinate tender submission, directing the lead estimators, programmer, H&S, construction managers and other parties that may be part of the bid team
Provide input into project methodology and program including innovative alternatives
Risk and opportunity identification
Build Cost Budget estimates from preliminary documents
Manage the build cost budgets as the design phase progresses
Prepare detailed estimates from tender/consent documents
Analyse subcontractor and supplier estimates
Build and maintain relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
Review full tender submission prepared by estimators, programme, methodology and non-price attributes for management sign-off prior to submission
Mentor and provide guidance to team membersSKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Experience as an estimator in commercial construction, with NZ experience
Experience managing other estimators
Strong commercial and legal understanding
National Diploma/Degree in Quantity Surveying or other relevant tertiary qualification
Eye for detail
Good overall knowledge of NZ building codes
Good understanding of NZS 4202BENEFITS
