Experienced Hostel Manager

We are looking for a super motivated, organised and passionate person to join our team as a Hostel Manager in Taupo. This is a permanent, long-term, salaried position - please only apply if you have the ability to work and live in New Zealand for at least 12 months and you have valid visas already in place.Haka Lodge Taupo has been newly renovated in line with our high-spec backpacker hostel brand which focuses on quality, style and a genuine love for New Zealand. We currently also have Lodges in Auckland, Bay of Islands, Christchurch and Queenstown. Our Haka Lodges are part of Haka Tours who operate Adventure, Snow and MTB Tours of New Zealand. We are looking for someone who shares our passion for travel, New Zealand and creating amazing experiences for our customers!The successful candidate will also have a proven track record of successful people management, outstanding organisational skills and detail orientated approach. This role incorperates the entire management and running of Haka Lodge Taupo with complete accountability for ensuring customer satisfaction, accurate reporting and finance, management of staff including training, HR and recruitment, and ensuring correct and consistent application of internal systems and processes including a sales desk function. Applicants need a good working knowledge of Excel. Experience with property management systems, channel managers and travel desk sales is a bonus.You will be reporting to our General Manager who is based in the South Island.
