The Kaitaia Hospital is a 28 bed rural hospital with a busy Accident and Medical Department, Outpatient clinics, Operating Theatre's, combined Medical, Surgical and Paediatric ward and many community based services.

The role of the Rural Hospital Specialist / Clinical Lead is to provide medical care to acutely ill patients in the Accident & Medical department as well as the management of inpatients on the General Ward. The range of medical care managed at Kaitaia Hospital is complex and interesting. The hospital provides care for some 25,000 people as well as the huge influx of tourists in the summer period. Our ideal candidate has experience as a Clinical Lead of a rural hospital with excellent knowledge of medical staff, rostering and day to day running's of a busy hospital.
Specialist support is provided from Whangarei Hospital. A generous salary package includes substantial support for Continuing Medical Education.
