The details:Permanent - 36 hours per week
About the role:
We currently have a vacancy for a registered nurse to join our District Nursing Service. The position covers both rural and urban bases within the Hamilton & Rural Family Health team, but is predominantly based in the Te Awamutu area.
We require flexibility from the successful candidate to work across both the rural and urban settings as part of the District Nurse position.
This is a 7 day a week service with hours between 8am - 5pm, and the successful applicant will be required to work rostered duties, including weekends and some on-call.
An orientation program will be provided and the start date can be negotiated.
Requirements:
Current NZ practicing certificate
A full driver's licence
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a registered nurse
The ability to work effectively within a team
Sensitivity to cultural aspects and the ability to apply the Treaty of Waitangi principles to practice
Excellent assessment skills and time management
The ability to work autonomously

It would be an advantage to have previous experience in district nursing and/or an advanced knowledge in wound management, and palliative care experience.
