Our client is a growing global affiliate in animal health; bringing solutions to veterinarians and farmers to improve productivity and farm outcomes. We are currently looking for a true business development manager to join the farm animal team in launching an exciting new era for this company across New Zealand. The ideal location for this role would be central North Island, but there is some flexibility on this.
Are you passionate about farming, agriculture and productivity on farm? Do you thrive on finding business opportunities to improve herd health and production outcomes in the livestock sector? Do you love working closely with producers, their farms, livestock and veterinarians? As the business development manager, we need you to deliver commercial plans by focusing on the customer needs and providing solutions through product placement to drive growth and expansion plans. You have loads of personal drive, highly motivated to succeed, provide valuable commercial insights and have an astute mind for business analysis and technology evolution. We envisage you with a consistent track record in relationship building and key account management. You are commercial in your thinking with a solid understanding of financial targets and business planning.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
Craft and implement profitable commercialisation plan to drive market penetration for this exciting suite of products by demonstrating the value to veterinarians and livestock producers across the region
Establish valuable partnership relationships with strategic clientele and key accounts and negotiate successfully at the corporate level
Collaborate with the wider business to leverage synergies and find opportunities to deliver improved outcomes on farm
Build up a customer base through lead generation, profiling and analysis to deliver tailored solutions that results in capturing sales opportunities
Craft training programs for clients and their staff to increase awareness, usage and sales
Perform presentations of highly technical information that will assist in the sales process of the technology solutions and throughout the implementation phase
Conduct on farm visits in collaboration with other business partners and veterinarians, attend industry events to further develop the active network
Regularly reporting on business activity, sales performance, current and future opportunities, operational expenses and competition feedback to the leadership team in Australia.
We need you to have the following:
Tertiary qualifications in Veterinary, Bioscience, Agricultural Science or similar
We want you to have more than 6 years of sales and/or marketing experience
We need at least 3+ years of experience in Livestock, Farming or Agriculture specifically in Dairy, Beef or Sheep production in New Zealand. This is critical for the success of the role
Technologically savvy, exceptional presentation skills and a transformational agile thinker
Meticulous planning skills, inclusive and collaborative communication style with drive
Ability to travel extensively around the region with overnight stays required
A valid New Zealand drivers license
Fluent English language skills in all forms
