Port of Tauranga is New Zealand's largest port and international freight gateway. Last year, our team of highly skilled mariners assisted in the safe passage of over 3,500 vessels movements through the Tauranga Harbour.
An opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join the Port's Marine Team as a Pilot Launchmaster.
Pilot Launchmasters are responsible for ferrying our pilots out to board an incoming vessel, and bringing them back to shore after a vessel departure. The role reports directly to our Manager Operations and would suit an experienced commercial skipper.
This is a full-time position functioning within a 24/7 roster to meet the Port's operational requirements.
To be successful in your application, you will be:
The successful applicant for this role will currently hold a Skipper Restricted Limits licence or equivalent, with a minimum of 5 years' commercial marine experience. Legal entitlement to work in New Zealand is also required.
Port of Tauranga is a drug and alcohol free workplace. The successful applicant will be required to pass a drug and alcohol test and background checks.
