Mary Potter Hospice provides free palliative care for the people of the Wellington Region. We have a 12 bedded Inpatient Unit, and a strong Community team. We take a multi-disciplinary approach in order to provide holistic care for our patients and their families.
We are currently recruiting for a Medical Consultant in Palliative Care with excellent communication skills to join our growing medical team working in the community.
The role will encompass assisting the teams with triage, initial assessments, care planning for complex scenarios, day service clinics, and visits to patient's homes. You will provide backup for the In-patient Unit and the Hospice afterhours service.
As a consultant, you will be involved with the education and support for primary care providers and medical students, and contribute to the Hospice education programme and the training of Junior Doctors.
