Use your experience and expertise to make a real difference to our patient's health outcomes

Here at the Southern DHB the highest possible levels of patient care and service lie at the heart of our mission. Integral to this is a commitment to achieving excellent clinical and commercial outcomes based on quality service delivery.
In order to continue providing a high standard of care across wards in our busy Fracture Clinic, we require a skilled and passionate nurse to join us on a part time, fixed term basis for six months.
About the role
Whether you are looking to diversify your existing portfolio or take on a new challenge in your career, this is an opportunity to showcase and develop your nursing skills while contributing to the provision of top level care at Dunedin Hospital. On any given day this role could include a variety of responsibilities such as ensuring everything is ready for patient's outpatient appointments, or impending surgical intervention, inclusive of but not exclusive to assisting with patient procedures, plastering, updating computer files, and constantly ensuring the patient journey is a smooth process. There is ample opportunity for you to make a positive impact on patient experience.
About you
You will bring excellent assessment skills and a passion and focus for working with families/whanau to provide a high standard of care. You will be an exceptional team player who has strong communication skills and the ability to be flexible with work shifts. Additionally, you will naturally embody the Southern DHB values of Kind (Manaakitanga), Open (Pono), Positive (Whaiwhakaaro) and Community (Whanaungatanga) through your interactions with patients and colleagues.
We're looking for someone who's experienced and organised, friendly and calm, able to work independently and at the same time genuinely interested in the best outcome for both patient and team. Previous experience working in Dunedin Hospital and Orthopaedic nursing would be advantageous. If this sounds like you, then we would love to hear from you. Operational hours are Monday to Friday 0800hrs-1630 hrs and you will be required to work rostered shifts.
