New Zealand Blood Service is a Crown Entity provider of blood services for New Zealand - they provide safe and appropriate blood and tissue products and related services ensuring NZ has a sustainable supply relying on the goodwill of unpaid and enthusiastic blood donors. They are focussed on providing excellence and meeting the needs of donors, patients, its staff and the wider healthcare community. This role is based in Newmarket.

About the role

This role reports into the National Manager Marketing & Communications
Lead PR strategy, media management and ensure consistency of comms throughout all channels - (mainly digital and a variety of collateral
Work with awesome internal and external stakeholders, including ambassadors
Be the brand guardian for all external communications
Manage and monitor all external communications including emotive (and life changing) story creation, website and social media calendar management

About You
This role requires an understanding of how to talk to a wide range of NZ'ers and spark an emotional connection for people to donate
You will be naturally curious and empathetic, excellent at building and maintaining relationships.
You will be collaborative and comfortable working with a range of internal and external agencies to get the job done, while also talking to donors and recipients.
You will be genuine and authentic and must have external communications experience either in marketing and/or agency side
You will have a good understanding of social media channels and how to develop engaging content for them
