The adult social work team at ADHB seeks a Practice Supervisor to provide clinical guidance and support to a team of social workers working with patients and their families within the acute wards and services at Auckland City Hospital.
The team provides social work services to patients and their families who may be experiencing grief and loss associated with sudden or chronic injury or ill health; poor diagnosis; end of life and sudden death. The work also includes responding to family violence, elder abuse and neglect, child protection issues, patients lacking in capacity and patients presenting with treatment non-adherence.
You will work collaboratively to prioritize case load whilst working from a patient centred perspective. You will be expected to work closely alongside the multi-disciplinary teams in Auckland City Hospital, both assisting in the management of the work of the team and in managing a dedicated clinical caseload. The role also involves providing clinical support to a greater team of social workers after hours as part of the after-hours social work service. You will also be involved in providing clinical governance alongside the team of practice supervisors.
You will have a strong understanding of grief and loss counselling support, family violence management, health social work experience and proven supervision and leadership skills. You will have full social work registration in New Zealand and have a strong understanding of Tikanga Maori. Your skills and knowledge in working with Pacific and other groups will also be advantageous in this role.
You would be expected to work alongside the multi-disciplinary teams in women's health, both assisting in the management of the work of the team and in managing a dedicated clinical caseload.
