Shepherd - Thornicroft Station

Shepherd opportunity on a 3000 ha Pamu farm, 40 minutes west of Outram, Otago.

Thornicroft Station is located 25 minutes north of Lawrence, 40 minutes from Outram and an hour from Dunedin. The district offers good fishing spots. This breeding and finishing 3000 ha property runs 6,000 Lamb Supreme ewes, 2000 hoggets, 500 Angus cows, 3000 hinds and 114 stags. This is a great opportunity for an individual who has a passion for farming and wants to continue developing their farming skills within a progressive organisation.

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous farming experience with sheep, cattle and deer
Pasture management skills would be an advantage
The ability to keep up-to-date and accurate records
2-4 well controlled working dogs
Good communication skills
Some computer skills and a willingness to learn new systems
A current New Zealand full driver's licence

This role comes with a recently renovated warm 3-bedroom house. The location offers easy access to a wide range of recreational activities including fishing and hiking. Good schooling options in the area with the bus nearby.
