The Team
Our North/East Community Services Team is a large interdisciplinary team working with clients in the community with a goal of maintaining patient independence. We offer assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of older persons.
We have a part-time opportunity based at The Princess Margaret Hospital working 20hrs per week (0.5FTE) for an experienced Occupational Therapist with a current Annual Practicing Certificate to join our North East Community Service Team! This opportunity is from approximately July - October 2019.
Days and hours of this role are to be negotiated with the successful candidate, and to meet the needs of the service.
The Role
In this role, you will be responsible for the following:
Completing assessments and formulating interventions to meet individual needs in collaboration with our multi-disciplinary team (MDT)
Assisting with the development of treatment plans and discharge planning
Working with patients from diverse social and cultural backgrounds, as well as their family/whanau, to achieve the best outcome for the patient

Your skills will include the following:
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within the wider interdisciplinary team
Registration with the New Zealand Occupational Therapy Board with current Annual Practicing Certificate is essential
You will be an ENABLE Accredited Assessor, or willingness to obtain this
A minimum of two years postgraduate experience as an Occupational therapist is advantageous
