About the role:
This vacancy for an Occupational Therapist exists in theNational Youth Forensic Inpatient Unit (Nga Taiohi)at Keneperu Hospital. Nga Taiohi is a bi-cultural, youth forensic unit with 10 beds situated on the Keneperu Hospital Campus. The unit was purpose built in 2016 and provides a modern working environment with state of the art technology. Nga Taiohi offers an inpatient service for youth offenders with a mental health and/or alcohol and other drug (AOD) issues. The unit is co-located with the existing Adolescent Acute Inpatient Mental Health Unit (Rangatahi) and the Youth Intellectual Disability (ID) Inpatient Unit (Hikitia Te Wairua) in the Centre of Excellence at Kenepuru Hospital, Porirua.
Duties
Clinical assessment and Occupational Therapy intervention
Oversight and facilitation of the unit programme
Skills & Experience
We are seeking an enthusiastic and progressive OT to join our multi-disciplinary team
Must have a current Practising Certificate
Forensic and/or Youth experience preferred
About Nga Taiohi:
The newNational Youth Forensic Inpatient Service - Nga Taiohi. Nga Taiohiis a purpose built unit with 10 beds. It provides an inpatient service for youth offenders with a mental health and/or alcohol and other drug (AOD) issues. This secure youth forensic unit is co-located with the existing Youth Acute Inpatient Mental Health Unit (Rangatahi) and the Youth Intellectual Disability (ID) Inpatient Unit (Hikitia Te Wairua) in the Centre of Excellence at Kenepuru Hospital, Porirua (which is about 20 minutes drive from Wellington City. This new unit opened in April 2016 and is part of theMental Health, Addictions & Intellectual Disability Service 3DHB .
