About the opportunity
Reporting into our Health & Welfare Manager, you will be working alongside a small team of experienced Occupational Health Nurses to provide oversight, vision and support for the Southern DHB management and employees in all aspects of workplace occupational health management.
This is a Monday to Friday role, working 24 hours per week, with days worked negotiable for the right candidate.
Key areas of focus for your role will be (but are not limited to):
• Promoting a comprehensive workplace health promotion strategy providing support for employees across the SDHB district
• Assist in developing, managing and communicating all SDHB health and welfare policies, procedures and standards
• Delivering a robust health assessment and monitoring programme
• Participate in the SDHB worker vaccination programme
• Providing advice and support regarding primary prevention

About you
This is your opportunity to positively impact the health and welfare of your Southern DHB colleagues throughout the Southern region. Our ideal candidate will bring the following skills and experience:
• Registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand as a Registered Nurse
• Hold a current Nursing Council of New Zealand Annual Practicing Certificate
• Be an authorised vaccinator
• Previous experience within an Occupational Health role would be beneficial
• Excellent communication and the ability to easily build rapport with people from all walks of life
• Injury prevention
