We are seeking Obstetric & Gynaecology Registrars for Hawke's Bay District Health Board who shares our values ofHe kauanuanu -Respect,Akina -Improvement,Raranga te tira -Teamwork andTauwhiro- Care.
Applications are invited for the position of Obstetric & Gynaecology Registrars commencing December 2019 and June 2020. The O&G Department offer supportive working conditions and are committed to excellent teaching.
Our District Health Board is large enough to provide variety and depth of work experience, with good support and supervision, yet small enough to be a friendly team with good social interaction. Hawke's Bay Hospital is a 400 bed hospital providing acute and elective care for the Hawke's Bay region. We have strengthening Primary and Community health services and an increasingly integrated approach to health and health care.
Working within a team of eight Registrars, you will have the full support of seven Specialist Consultants and work closely with eight House Officers. While enjoying a wide variety of inpatient cases, you will also be expected to attend Women's Outpatients and work in the Surgical Ward, Operating Theatre, Acute Admissions Unit, Emergency Department, Early Pregnancy Clinic. There may also be some need to attend outpatient clinics in peripheral units within the DHB.
We are big enough to offer variety, challenge, quality learning and development opportunities and collegial support. At the same time we are small enough that friendships flourish, commuting can be fun (nearly 200km of cycle trails connect the main centres of Napier, Hastings and Clive) and we take your work/leisure life balance seriously (supporting staff wellness is an organisational KPI). The combination of fantastic weather, stunning scenery, beaches, world-class trout-fishing, easy access to the outdoors and the Central Plateau ski-fields, established food and wine experiences and a high performing hospital make Hawke's Bay an ideal work/lifestyle destination.
You won't find this opportunity just anywhere, and when you combine this with the chance to live in New Zealand's own piece of paradise, you have to ask yourself "why work anywhere else"? Take a stroll through the Hawke's Bay Tourism website and get yourself to Hawke's Bay!
Ideal applicants should have at least 2 Years post graduate experience and have completed at least a six month placement at Registrar level within an Obstetrics and Gynaecology service.
Interested parties are to apply online and should include:
