Applications are invited for the position of Obstetric & Gynaecology House Officers for 2020 training year commencing November 2019, February and May 2020. The O&G Department offer supportive working conditions and are committed to excellent teaching.
Our District Health Board is large enough to provide variety and depth of work experience, with good support and supervision, yet small enough to be a friendly team with good social interaction. We have strengthening Primary and Community health services and an increasingly integrated approach to health and health care.
Working within a team of eight House Officers, you will have the full support of seven Specialist Consultants and work closely with eight Registrars. There is the opportunity to sit the O&G Diploma. While enjoying a wide variety of inpatient cases, you will have the chance to experience Women's Outpatients, work in the Surgical Ward, Operating Theatre, Acute Admissions Unit, Emergency Department, Early Pregnancy Clinic.
We are big enough to offer variety, challenge, quality learning and development opportunities and collegial support. At the same time we are small enough that friendships flourish, commuting can be fun (nearly 200km of cycle trails connect the main centres of Napier, Hastings and Clive) and we take your work/leisure life balance seriously (supporting staff wellness is an organisational KPI). The combination of fantastic weather, stunning scenery, beaches, world-class trout-fishing, easy access to the outdoors and the Central Plateau ski-fields, established food and wine experiences and a high performing hospital make Hawke's Bay an ideal work/lifestyle destination.
You won't find this opportunity just anywhere, and when you combine this with the chance to live in New Zealand's own piece of paradise, you have to ask yourself "why work anywhere else"? Take a stroll through the Hawke's Bay Tourism website and get yourself to Hawke's Bay!
Ideal applicants should have at least 2 Years post graduate experience and have completed at least a six month placement at Registrar level within an Obstetrics and Gynaecology service.
