MAAORI NURSE LEAD – MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES.
Fulltime PermanentPosition Monday to Friday.

We are seeking a self-motivated,innovative, clinically and culturally experienced Nurse Leader to join ourservice !!

This exciting role has a dual function. From a strategic perspective, you willwork with the Kai Kokiri; Cultural Advisor Maaori, Clinical NurseDirector and the wider senior nursing team to support the recruitment,retention and development of Maaori nurses across Mental Health Services. Thiswill include providing input into the MH Strategic objectives, including thecultural capability and workforce objectives. Your expertise will also berequired as MHS continues to review and restructure our acute continuum tobetter service the needs of our complex Maaori population.

From an operational perspective, you will function across our Mental HealthServices. Within this function, you will use your clinical and culturalexpertise to assist in the development of Kaupapa Maaori services and willprovide oversight and advice to the clinical team and assist with recruitmentpipeline and orientation of all Maaori nursing staff within the Mental HealthDivision.

Essential :

• Current NZ APC with ability to practice in Mental Health
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in mental health with a relevant post graduatequalification
• Sound knowledge of Maaori health models, Maaori nursing needs and Maaorihealth priorities.
• Ability to confidently articulate Maaori values/concepts within a clinicalenvironment
• Proven ability to develop, manage and measure projects independently withindefined timeframes
• Proven leadership ability
• Full and current drivers licence desired
• Experience in clinical/cultural teaching
• Strong quality focus
