The Network Engineer role plays a crucial role in overseeing the deployment and operational management of both internal infrastructure and customer network solutions.This position involves network design, configuration, deployment, and operations in a mixture of disciplines across service provider, enterprise, and data centre networking, using a variety of different communication mediums.
Other responsibilities include a critical data centre component with the deployment and maintenance of physical hardware in the company's data centres and Points of Presence (PoPs).Responsibilities:Network DesignCollaborate with internal teams and clients to design robust and customized network solutions.Develop network diagrams, documentation, and proposals for internal infrastructure and external client projects.Ensure network designs align with industry best practices and security standards.Network Implementation and Integration:Lead the implementation and configuration of network hardware and software components that are allocated as tasks or projects by the Network Team Manager.Seamlessly integrate new network solutions into existing environments.Conduct thorough testing and troubleshooting to ensure optimal performance of the network.Deploy and maintain physical hardware in the company's data centres and Points of Presence (PoPs).Collaborate with the data centre teams to maintain and upgrade hardware as needed.Network Operations and Maintenance:Monitor network performance, identify issues proactively, and take corrective actions as necessary.Perform routine maintenance tasks, including software updates, security patches, and hardware upgrades.Maintain detailed network documentation, including configuration changes and customer interactions.Participate in an on-call rotation to provide emergency support outside normal office hours and address critical network issues.Security and Compliance:Implement and enforce security policies and access controls to safeguard network assets and data, both internally and on behalf of clients.Stay updated on emerging security threats and technologies to maintain network security.Knowledge Sharing and GrowthCollaborate with Sales and Customer Success Management teams to help them understand customer requirements and tailor solutions appropriately.Participate in meetings and presentations as a subject matter expert to clients and suppliers.Provide mentorship and guidance to junior network engineering staff, facilitating knowledge transfer and contributing to the professional growth of team members.Encourage a culture of continuous learning and skill development.Continue to educate yourself and keep up with developments in the networking area that pertain to your role.Working Conditions:Permanent full timeAuckland basedOnsite predominantly in the officeWhat will make you successful in this role?3–5 years of hands-on network operations experience, preferably in an ISP environment.Familiarity with Juniper, Cisco, and/or Fortinet hardware (CCNA, NSE4, JNCIA, or equivalent).Strong troubleshooting and multitasking skills with a "can-do" attitude.Proactive, resilient, and ready to take on challenges.Why is this an exciting opportunity?Atturra is one of the fastest growing ASX-listed advisory and IT solutions companies in Australia, giving you a strong foundation to fulfil your career ambitions.We currently have 1100+ professionals working across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, and Hong Kong who are using innovation to lead the way.The Managed Services division of Atturra provides leading Hybrid IT, Private Cloud, and Connectivity services, backed by decades of industry experience.
