We provide Signals Intelligence and Cyber Security and resilience to organisations of national significance to successfully navigate in an unpredictable world.The roleAs a Network Engineer in our team, you will design, implement and support the organisation's large domestic and international multi-service networks.
Your day-to-day may also see you working on a combination of the below:TroubleshootingImplementation of new networksWorking with the architects on the full lifecycle from planning through design, testing, deployment and operationMaintaining and optimising operational networksThis opportunity is available to anyone who is looking to be based in Auckland, Wellington or Blenheim, and will see you engaging regularly with key domestic and international stakeholders.Who we're looking forYou will be a team player, who enjoys collaborative working in an open plan environment.
This role will require you to be a confident communicator, as well as have strong problem-solving skills, as you will regularly engage with teams and partners to discuss requirements and provide solutions.
We are also looking for you to have:Solid networking fundamentalsTroubleshooting skillsRouting and switching experienceNetwork monitoring and management practicesUnderstanding of modern security practicesIt would also be useful if you have experience with:Modern service provider and data centre networking, including MPLS and EVPN.Experience working with service providers domestically and internationallyDeveloping solutions for high-risk environmentsHigh Assurance Cryptographic capabilitiesModern compute, container, IaaS, PaaS platformsIdentifying, diagnosing and resolving network issues using a range of tools (debugging, logs, PCAPs, etc.)

You must:Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 yearsOR Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 yearsBe eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearanceOrdinarily, this means you'll have a 15-year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.Still unsure?
