Currently we have a fantastic opportunity for a solutions-focused, people centric Manager to lead and manage our Nelson Inspection Site. You will empower the team to deliver both outstanding service and business results.
Reporting to the Regional Manager - Central you'll be responsible for the day to day supervision of our Nelson site, and their contractual and customer commitments. This is a multi-faceted role where your natural leadership and ‘hands-on' ability to implement best practice operations, in line with company vision and policies, will drive the business forward on our long-term growth plans.
You'll be highly organised and keep the inspection lanes busy and free flowing through your ability to appropriately assign and delegate work. Responsibilities also include service delivery through ensuring staff are trained, engaged and confident to deliver on business objectives
The work environment is important to productivity and you'll actively promote a culture of high performance, individual enablement and continuous improvement. Health, safety and quality assurance are key, and you will promote best practice safety, inspection, and business standards to showcase VINZ as a major national provider of inspection services.
To be successful you will require:
Proven ability to direct, guide and motivate individuals and gel them into successful teams.
A background in the automotive industry, ideally heavy transport - with ability to gain a NZTA authority preferred but not essential.
Sound computing and administrative ability to manage office and workshop tasks.
Excellent English communication both written and verbal, and be a clear engaging speaker.
Proven customer service and interpersonal capability, able to build rapport and understanding with diverse people.
Process orientation - people, task, time and organisational, and adhere to mandated processes and regulations.
A proactive business focus, able to forge beneficial stakeholder relationships.
A sense of humour, positive attitude and tons of common sense!
