Would you like a rewarding career where every day is different? We are looking for Navigators to join our expanding Emergency Housing service in Hamilton.

National provider of a diverse range of services to whanau, including Health and Disability, Youth and Transitional Housing
Provide support to people in need of emergency housing and support to find and sustain long-term accommodation.
2 x Fixed Term positions, fulltime until mid October 2020.
About the role
Providing support from within our Emergency Housing service, this role is focused on housing and connecting whanau with the community. You will be focused on guiding tenants through the Ministry of Social Development system, health and education services where required, to enable whanau to reconnect by using your community connections to become involved in the wider community. You will have previous advocacy experience, well-established community networks and problem solving comes naturally.
The service delivery side of this role will require you to work and coordinate with your colleagues in tandem to support whanau through their journey, providing a safe environment and supporting them with their goals and daily tasks.
These are both fulltime fixed term positions 40 hours week Monday Friday, between the hours of 8am and 8pm until mid-October. The roles is covering employees who are going on student placement.
Who we're looking for;
We are looking for someone who is positive, flexible, vibrant, confident and passionate about working in our service.
You will enjoy working creatively, autonomously and work effectively in an interdisciplinary team being able to communicate easily with a variety of people. You will need to think on your feet, remain calm under pressure and really encourage our clients along their journey.
You'll naturally be a problem solver, quick thinker and enjoy connecting with the community. You'll use your non-judgemental attitude and belief to encourage clients to change and grow.
What you need;
It's desirable that you'll have a level 4 or 5 qualification in Mental Health and Addiction or Social Services
Knowledge of working with people with Mental Health and/or Alcohol and Other Addictions
Previous experience working within emergency housing in a similar role
Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act 1986 will be advantageous
Proven relationship management skills and experience
It's essential that you have a full New Zealand driving licence
Strong computer skills, a 'can-do' attitude and be able to demonstrate strong personal and professional boundaries.
