The motel is a 19 unit property in the seaside town of Picton- Malborough, offering accommodation ranging from studios to two bed room apartments.It is minutes from all the main attractions Picton has to offer -including the foreshore , shopping , booking shops for activities, restaurants,cafes and a couple of minutes from the Picton Marina.
About the role
We are seeking a motivated couple who want to apply their skills in running an exciting developing accommodation business in the heart of Picton.You are responsible for the business 24/7 (between the two of you) managing reception and bookings, working with the house staff,managing day today activities of the business and its workforce to ensure the smooth and profitable running of the business.We are looking for a couple with great people skills,practical know-how and strong intiatives.
It is important for the managers to be involved in all aspects of the business operations.You must be able to guide the employees to work as a well-functioning team.Therefore,the ideal candidates will be strong team players and effective leaders, able to set examples and foster a positive culture.
Being a sea side,wine and adventure area The managers will also be involved in the hire of the business Toys (Bikes ect.) to the clients.
The goal is to enhance customer experience and expand our clients by strengthening our reputation.
Please Note:
There will be a considerable and exciting renovation program to work around .
Key Responsibilities
Ensure guests have an exceptional experience when dealing with the business.
Housekeeping duties - assist with casual staff when busy and ensure high quality of outcomes .
Develop and ensure profitable revenue for the motel,including maximizing margins,reviewing monthly reports,wage costs,cost of sales,placing orders,tracking inventory .
Collaborate with external parties such as suppliers,travel agents ,group bookings and Internet profiling.
Ensure the accommodation units are maintained to a high standard,dealing with any maintenance issues,shortages in staff,renovations etc.
Benefits and perks
There is a base salary of $65,000.00 gross per annum,
An onsite 4 bedroom stand alone house with private garden court yard,power,internet,gas and satellite tv.
There is also the opportunity to earn up to $7,500.00 gross per annum through achieving the set KPI's.
Skills and experience
ABOUT YOU
Must have proven experience as motel managers or be able to prove to us you can rise to the role.
Have an understanding of all motel management best practices and guide lines .
Excellent customer service as well as business mindset.
Demonstrable aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving.
Be reliable with an ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
Have good computer skills and able to work with basic programes .
Applicants for this position should have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa.
