Details of the offer

Job Description

We are taking applications from Registered Midwives to join this busy team based in Hastings. They provide excellent care to approximately 2,200 women and their whanau annually.
There is flexibility about what the job might like for you. Perhaps you want some casual hours or stability for a fixed term period only – whatever it is they are open to it (providing it meets visa and registration requirements if you are a midwife coming from overseas)…just talk to us! They can also offer relocation support for a limited time! If you are not in Hawkes Bay already but are serious about moving there and joining their team then call us and have a chat about what they might be able to offer.
In case you do not know, the hospital facility is one of a kind! In addition to their main secondary care birthing facility, they are the only DHB in New Zealand with a co-located Primary Birthing Unit. Last year 700 women benefited from their purpose built contemporary ‘home away from home’ facilities. With this incredible facility they are able to actively support and encourage women to birth naturally.
The team pride themselves on clinical excellence and will support you to achieve the same. They encourage a workforce that is innovative, eager to learn and enhance their skills, and passionate about caring for their community. As part of their team they’ll support, encourage and help you to develop your career with them.
You’ll get an opportunity to work closely with their more vulnerable whanau and support them to achieve the best birth outcomes. They’re proud of their team’s diversity and believe in the strength of a diverse and inclusive workforce – they know this helps achieve the best outcomes for their women, babies and their whanau.
If you are not already living in Hawkes Bay and making the most of what is on offer, you should know it boasts an enviable lifestyle with great homes, superb schools, a burgeoning economy, and no traffic headaches. Whether you like living by the sea, next to the river, nestled in the hills, in a village community, or an art deco city…Hawkes Bay has it all.
Qualifications

To be considered you will need to be a Registered Midwife with a current practising certificate from the Midwifery Council of New Zealand (or you need to be eligible for NZ registration). Just as important, is your experience working with women of varying ages and cultural groups and your passion for delivering top quality care.
They are a multidisciplinary team so it is imperative you recognise the importance of a high performing and supportive group who come together for a common goal!
