For over 35 years, we've supported our communities with health, social, education, and community development services.The RoleWe are seeking a compassionate and motivated Mental Health Support Worker to join our Hiwa-i-te-Rangi team — a multidisciplinary group of registered mental health practitioners and mental health support workers.
Together, we work alongside whanau experiencing low to moderate mental health needs, providing holistic, practical, and mana-enhancing support.In this role, you will walk alongside whanau on their hauora journeys, supporting them to set goals, remove barriers, and build wellness and independence in ways that reflect their aspirations and tikanga.
You'll also be part of a strong, integrated team that reflects kaupapa Maori values in all aspects of care.Key ResponsibilitiesWork in partnership with whanau to create and implement wellness plansSupport whanau with access to wider services within the organisationProvide practical support for immediate needs and long-term aspirationsWork collaboratively within an integrated team to provide wraparound careWhat We're Looking ForYou will bring a genuine passion for whanau ora and be someone who can work effectively with whanau from all walks of life.
Ideally, you'll also have:A Level 4 Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (or equivalent)Experience working in the mental health and wellbeing spaceKnowledge of, or willingness to learn, te ao Maori and te reo MaoriConfidence and compassion to navigate complex whanau situationsThe ability to remain calm and grounded in times of conflict or crisisWorking with us means being part of a whanau-first organisation that values your wellbeing and professional growth.
