The General Surgery, Orthopaedics & Plastics Service at Dunedin Hospital is a busy, challenging and rewarding place to work. As a typist you will be strongly customer focused with a typing speed of at least 70wpm. Ideally you'll already have medical typing experience, but if not - we'd like to hear from those excellent typists out there who are interested in working in health. (Please note that our preferred candidate will be required to be measured for speed and accuracy).

The work required to be undertaken is fast paced and you will be working to strict deadlines. It relies heavily on technology, therefore you must be confident around computer systems and Dictaphones; with the ability to type accurately with high attention to detail. You must also be conscious of working with the utmost discretion as you'll be privy to patient information. You may be required to assist other departments for staff leave or if another department is struggling to meet their typing deadlines.

The salary range for this position is $36,293 to $42,740 (pro rata) and the commencement step will be based on experience, skills and qualifications if applicable.
