Applicants are sought to fill two Medical Physicist positions in the Cancer & Blood Service at Auckland City Hospital. We are open to recruit across a range of experience, from newly qualified to senior level.
Auckland District Health Board (ADHB) is one of the largest quality health providers in New Zealand offering a wide range of primary, secondary, tertiary and quaternary services to around 1.6 million people in the northern region as well as nationally for specific specialities. The Radiation Oncology Department consists of 14 Physicists, 1 Physics Technicians and 5 Medical Physics Registrars, providing a comprehensive service to a population of approximately 1.5 million people in the greater Auckland and Northland areas.
Facilities include 6 linear accelerators (Varian and Elekta), 2 large bore CTs, kV therapy unit, RaySearch and Pinnacle treatment planning systems, Mobius & PerFraction QA platforms, and an HDR unit. Our two newest accelerators were commissioned in 2018 with FFF beams, 6DoF couch and SGRT. Planning is underway for the replacement of two further linacs, and the process to replace a CT is nearing completion. VMAT / IMRT are our standard techniques for most treatment sites, and SABR techniques are increasingly being utilised.
To be considered for a position, you will be a qualified medical physicist (ACPSEM Certified ROMP or equivalent) and must be eligible for membership of the Australasian College of Physical Scientists & Engineers in Medicine. Further requirements are as per the Position Descriptions available below.
