In New Zealand, our vaccines portfolio helps prevent illnesses such as hepatitis, rabies, rotavirus, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, measles, mumps, rubella, meningococcal disease and influenza.We have a rare opportunity available for an experienced pharmaceutical Medical professional to join our close-knit and supportive NZ team. Reporting into the Cluster Medical Lead, this is a critical, strategic and high profile role for the business.Your responsibilities will be broad and will include:Acting as the Local Medical Lead and providing appropriate medical oversight of vaccines clinical studies.External engagement with a focus on maintaining effective relationships with key stakeholders.Leading, coaching, training and developing the NZ medical and broader NZ vaccines team.Providing medical and technical expertise and input into scientific submissions; medical strategy and providing final sign off for GSK vaccines materials and medical activityDeveloping and maintaining extensive knowledge in the vaccines therapeutic area as well as keeping up to date with GSK pipeline products and activitiesMedical governance, risk management, regulatory and pharmacovigilance accountabilities including considerations relating to patient safety.To be successful in this role you will have:Previous experience in a Medical Science Liaison or Medical Affairs Manager role within the pharmaceutical sector.Experience and willingness to engage with external customers and stakeholders.An applied understanding of the NZ healthcare/pharmaceutical landscape.A medical degree (preferred) or a degree in a related field such as Pharmacy or Biomedical Science.Specific vaccines therapeutic area expertise (preferred)A commitment to the highest standards of ethical medical practice and governance.This is a rare and exciting leadership opportunity that will allow you to make a meaningful and tangible contribution to an organisation that is committed to driving innovation and best practice leading with ethical approaches to all our activities including access to medicines and reinvestment into the communities we operate in.GSK is a place where outstanding people do amazing things.
