THE OPPORTUNITY An exciting opportunity is available for a Mechanical Fitter to join our Auckland based team on a permanent, full-time basis.
This role would suit someone starting out in their fitting or mechanical career, with a good hands-on attitude and a willingness to learn.
You'll be involved in assembling both standard and custom-built machines used in mining laboratories around the world.
It's a busy and practical role where having good hand skills, attention to detail, and a positive approach to teamwork will help you succeed.
Training and support will be provided as you grow your skills in machine building.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE The assembly of machinery both standard and customised and assistance as required with Automated linear systemsSmall automation projectsInstallationCommissioning and servicing.
Building automated machines from start to finish and ensure machine has full functionality mechanically.
Interpreting diagrams, drawings, specifications and plans to determine suitable material and the sequence of operations.
Diagnosing and repairing faults with tools and machinery.
Performing regular maintenance.
ABOUT YOU: Early career professional with up to 5 years of experience after completing an apprenticeship.
Prior experience in machine building is advantageous.
The legal right to live and work permanently in New Zealand.
A trade or level 4 Mechanical Engineering certificate in fitting and machining or similar.
Hold a good level of physical fitness.
The ability to problem solve.
Computer literacy on Microsoft suites.
E.g Word, Outlook, etc… The flexibility and ability to travel as and when required.
