OverviewMaintains service operations by inspecting, maintaining, and repairing vehicles and equipment.
ResponsibilitiesBuild and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements.Inspect machines, engines, transmissions, etc.
and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability.Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems.Clean and apply lubricants to machinery components.Replenish fluids and components of machinery components.Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery.Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users.Undertake other duties as assigned.Keep logs of work and report on issues.Ensure Supervisor knows where you are by writing it on the whiteboard.Other duties as assigned.Update skills with classes and testing to stay current with DOT rules and regulations
QualificationsProven experience as a mechanic.Excellent knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical, and other systems and their components.Ability to work in a variety of weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, and dusty environments.Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.Be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.Be able to work overtime when required.Must have strong work ethic.Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.Communication skills, ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, and the general public in a courteous, professional manner at all times.Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.Knowledge of heavy equipment.Timekeeping via T-Sheets application is required.Excellent housekeeping of shop and work area required.Use of Personal Protection Equipment is required.Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.Must comply with the company's drug and alcohol testing requirements.Valid driver's license required.Interpersonal skills, time management, thoroughness, confidence, communication skills, organizational skills, problem solver, and supervisory skills are required.Must demonstrate professionalism, have a sense of urgency to meet deadlines, multi-task and set priorities effectively, flexible and adaptive to change, excellent hand, eye, and foot coordination, accomplish goals in a team environment, attention to detail, strive for excellence, possess a positive "can do" attitude, and have excellent sense of balance.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
