AboutThe Role
Wehave great job opportunities for experienced Diesel Mechanics to support our RedvaleWorkshop team based in Albany. In this role you will be responsible for therepair and maintenance of all vehicles, yellow gear and associated plant equipment.
Yourkey responsibilities will include:
Maintaining all aspects of a vehicle to relevant transport legislation and standards. This will include lubrication, greasing and oil changes, dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts;
Maintaining all aspects of equipment to the suppliers’ standard;
Carrying out scheduled preventative maintenance services on vehicles, yellow gear, mobile plant and equipment;
Reviewing all driver daily vehicle reports;
Performing fault diagnostics to detect mechanical and electrical faults by using instruments that check charging and starting circuitry, batteries, ignition and ignition timing, fuel injection systems and speed control, cylinder compression, engine condition, braking efficiency, and wheel balance and alignment;
Test drive and/or operate equipment to ensure repair has been completed correctly; and,
Ensuring all hand tools and equipment are safe to use and stored correctly and in a clean condition.
To besuccessful in this role you will need to have:
National Certificate in Automotive Engineering – Level 4 (NZ) (or equivalent)
A valid NZ Class 4 Licence (as a minimum)
High attention to detail, strong verbal communication skills and good understanding of operating procedures
Technical amplitude and strong problem solving skills
Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
