Marine Operations Manager

Marine Operations Manager South Port NZ Ltd location Southland. South Port is New Zealand's southernmost commercial deep-water port and delivers a full range of marine services, including tug, pilotage and marine support operations. We service both international and coastal vessels, including Fiordland cruise ship activities. The Marine Operations Manager reports directly to the Port General Manager. The role is responsible for managing the effective use of our marine resources and making sure our operations run safely and efficiently. This involves managing and supporting both land and water based operations, marine specialists, shipping agents, shipping companies and contractors. The role works closely with the pilotage team and includes co-ordinating pilotage support services. A key part of the role will be overseeing compliance with our Maritime Transport Operating Plan and Maritime NZ regulations and guidelines. This involves fleet management, including certifications and maintenance planning, marine infrastructure management, port facility security requirements and contractor management.
