The Opportunity
We are looking for a talented and experienced broker to join the team based in Auckland CBD. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop the National Marine Practice Group within our specialties Division which also incorporates Aviation, Trade Credit, Professional Risks, M&A and Construction.
You will be responsible for a broad portfolio of large and complex marine clients based predominantly in the Auckland region together with assisting our widespread branch network with technical and marketing capabilities. This role will provide the opportunity to participate in Asia Pacific and Global Marine Practice network groups, knowledge hubs and educational forums
Furthermore key responsibilities:
General queries and communication with existing wholly managed clients
Collaboration with Corporate and Commercial brokers as well as our claims team to provide specialist assistance across Marine insurance lines
Meeting with Underwriters and placement teams to adhere to client needs
Liaison with bespoke Marine offshore markets via our Global Broking Centres
Participation in new business opportunities
Building and imparting technical knowledge on commercial marine classes
Development of the National Marine Practice Group.
This is a rare opportunity for an Insurance professional to continue develop their capabilities in a diverse and challenging role.
About you
To be successful in this role you will need to have an in-depth understanding of all classes of marine insurance. Ideally from a similar role or either a broking or underwriting background with current exposure to Marine classes. Specifically, we will be looking for a high standard of presentation and an ability to engage and represent our speciality products and services which differentiates us in the NZ market.
We will be looking for:
Proven track-record within the Insurance market, with Marine insurance product (Cargo, Hull & Liabilities) knowledge required
Familiarity with standard marine contracts
Experience handling corporate or large complex commercial clients
Commitment to delivering exceptional client value through expertise and innovation
Ability to problem solve and thing outside the square
An ability to think objectively on complex matters.
