We are looking for a Principal Engineer to drive technical solution for the next generation online audio service. You are expected to spearhead the coordination of vendor relationships for our digital video/audio services with expertise and skill. As an experienced professional, you'll demonstrate excellent communication, strong interpersonal skills and negotiating skills. You will work closely with outsource vendor and internal teams to ensure the best possible digital video and audio experience.Your role goes beyond coordination; you'll play a key part in keeping our vendors updated on industry trends. You shall be the Subject Matter Expert for contract-related matters, you'll offer invaluable advice. Additionally, you'll be the main point of contact for business needs, showing your skill in project management and quick decision-making.ResponsibilitiesDeveloping and sustaining long-standing relationships with company-approved vendors, Define and manage appropriate metrics to monitor and measure key performance metrics for application performance, client performance, and video/audio performance for video/audio servicesEvaluate vendor proposals and change orders, ensuring the appropriate technical designs are in place, prototype solution designs and perform POC to satisfy these business requirements and ensure adequate testing, review, and sign off controls are in place for completed developmentsPerform capacity planning, video/audio resource allocation and preparation for scheduled as well as ad-hoc live events, technical liaison with key vendors in the video/audio streaming space and work and collaborate across different teams within the organization on integration points and integration effortsGather product requirements from business units and translate them to engineering deliveries, prepare cost estimates for product and solutions, conduct presentations or training session for related technologies and conducting research on available vendors to determine which vendors offer the best pricing and product qualitySmooth out any operational issues in a timely and professional manner, including crisis and escalation management, work with vendor to optimise and maintain online video/audio streaming workflow, both for Live and On Demand and for different devices and platformsQualificationDegree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT or a related discipline from a recognised Tertiary InstitutionMinimum 3 years of working experience in a similar capacity and proven experience in managing and working with vendor in IT industryStrong negotiation, management, and decision-making skills and excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skillsEffective written and verbal communication and relationship-building skills and knowledge of a digital video/audio platformUnderstanding of Digital / Analog Audio, Broadcast Specifications, Digital Radio and experience in implementation, operation of an OTT platform and experience using Cloud Services would be a plusCompany information Registration No.199201312EReport this job advert Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.#J-18808-Ljbffr
