Manager, Services Strategy & Design

This high profile government organisation, instrumental in the way they enrich all New Zealanders are embarking on a major transformational journey. With technology at the forefront of the transformation, a newly created opportunity has arisen for a Senior Leader, Services Strategy and Design to join the ICT team.
You will be part of the CTO's Senior Leadership team, instrumental in setting the strategy of the Business Analysis, Architecture and Design function across the organisation, leading high performing teams to direct the implementation and evolution of the strategy, applying the highest level of leadership skills.
Key areas of focus include:
Direct the ongoing development of an enterprise architecture capability and practice to support the current and future requirements of the organisation. Ensure alignment across business strategies, enterprise transformation activities and technology directions, setting strategies, policies, standards and practices.
Lead the architecture and technical solution design activities for programmes of work, and change projects and initiatives within the organisation.
Develop long-term strategic relationships with customers, partners, industry leaders and other government agencies.
Provide strategic technology thought leadership and architecture guidance to projects requiring technical infrastructure and/or application services enablement, which includes taking strategic and tactical approaches to achieve results through high-quality advice.
Lead and support the pastoral and development needs of the Strategy & Design Services team, ensuring the appropriate capacity and capability for the team to contribute to the work programmes and priorities.
Direct the evolution and implementation of the Strategy and Design Services operating model in order to maximise the adoption and use of appropriate new technologies and selecting appropriately from predictive (plan-driven) approaches and more adaptive (iterative/agile) approaches.
Direct the provision of the long-term investment planning for ICT assets which includes total cost of ownership and life cycle management.

To be successful in this role you will need to have proven experience of leading high calibre teams, a strong background in enterprise architecture and have a deep understanding of the technology industry and the implications of emerging technologies on the wider business environment.
