About North East Link Project
The North East Link Project will connect the missing link in Melbourne's freeway network, while increasing the capacity of the Eastern Freeway. It will slash travel times, get trucks off local roads and link key growth areas in the north and south-east.

About the opportunity
We are seeking a seasoned and passionate Safety professional who is excited by the notion of shaping the landscape for health and safety at NELP. This role will be responsible for promoting a safe work culture and will rely on your ability to manage safety requirements within an operational environment across complex projects. This position requires extensive knowledge of Victorian legislative requirements and operating context.
The role will require you to:
Manage all the health and safety activities undertaken by project staff and contractors during all phases of the project lifecycle.
Monitor and oversee safety systems development, implementation and auditing, relationship management and provide sound advice in accordance with legislative requirements, policies and procedures.
Provide leadership and guidance to members of the Safety team and the wider Project to ensure safety is lived as a core value.
Proactively establish and maintain strong partnerships and ensure strategic coordination with external stakeholders including VicRoads and WorkSafe to gain support for safety and project decisions.

About you
You are:
Highly experienced in the Safety industry with experience in auditing and managing safety requirements on major engineering or high-risk construction projects.
A strong leader with high interpersonal acumen to guide and motivate a team in a deadline driven environment.
An individual with exceptional communication skills, and the ability to build, maintain and influence strong and collaborative relationships.
Experienced in and capable of establishing and implementing cutting edge safety management systems and procedures.
