Position purpose
This is a key position within the Government Land Advice and Coordination branch of the Strategic Land Assessment and Information Division - Land Use Victoria. This branch is intended to become a trusted, neutral, expert advisor to government and landholding agencies. The position will lead key policy, strategy, analytic and reform priorities to improve the value delivered from the State Government's $300 billion land portfolio. An essential aspect of the role will be to establish strong, high-trust, collaborative relationships with landholding agencies, and over time with other stakeholders including local Government (also a considerable land owner), developers and the community.
Accountabilities
Lead the implementation of the Government Land Use Policy and proactively identify innovative opportunities to improve how government delivers public value from its land
Lead the delivery of Strategic Land Use Assessments to provide government with impartial, whole-of-government advice on future use options of government land that will maximise public value for the Victorian community.
Provide advice and recommendations to government departments and agencies on potential land use scenarios arising from the identification of surplus or underutilised land, development or capital investments and options for current and future land use needs based on agency strategic priorities and relevant long-term plans.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders necessary to ensure understanding of and support for the division's key projects and initiatives and the Government's policies and priorities.
Initiate and drive significant strategic priorities and opportunities for the branch and division across the Department and with other departments and agencies.
Model DELWP's values and behaviours and play an active role in strengthening the culture of the Division and the Group.

This is a fixed-term position until 31 March 2020.
