What you will do
The Manager, Performance and Evaluation is the principal NZ Defence College's learning evaluation subject matter expert, responsible for coordinating and communicating all NZDF individual learning related evaluation and measurement activities.
This role is responsible for effectively leading a national team of evaluation experts to:
Ensure monitoring systems track and maintain oversight of NZDF individual learning performance;
Provide evidence based information to enable NZDF stakeholders to assess and understand the impact of individual learning across the NZDF learning system;
Provide strategic and operational reporting information to inform data driven decision making.

What we need
We are seeking an experienced learning/training evaluation professional:
who has formal evaluation training and experience (this is different from research experience);
who can communicate evaluation data into meaningful infographics and decision support tools for stakeholders;
who is an extraordinary communicator;
who is comfortable working in complex stakeholder landscapes;
who is able to translate evaluation insights into practical and tangible change recommendations at the workplace, or at the operational edge;
who is experienced in translating cross-sector best practice into the Defence context and situation;
who can be an active contributor to cross-Directorate working groups;
who is a systems thinker;
who is an experienced leader with well-developed people management skills with a track record of developing capability to provide ongoing development;
who can travel within New Zealand to visit your team at other NZDF camps and bases.

Successful application will need to have a minimum Bachelor's Degree in Evaluation, Leadership or Tertiary Teaching Assessment (or very similar) AND 5+ years experiences leading training/education evaluation in a large and complex environment.
