Pivotal role taking a system-level view of the learning support needs of children and young people
Identify support gaps and improvement opportunitiesfor the $1 billion learning support portfolio
Lead the development and implementation of a medium term investment plan
Lead budget, service design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation processes for new and existing services, with colleagues across the Ministry
Permanent, full time position based in National Office.

The role
This role is based in the Learning Support team within Sector Enablement and Support. One in five children and young people receive some form of learning support throughout their early learning and schooling education. You will work across the Ministry's national and regional offices and with other agencies to lead system-level analysis of supports and services for children and young people with disabilities and learning support needs to enable them to be present and achieving in early learning services and school.
The person
To be successful you will need:
Experience in thinking strategically at an organisational level
The ability to lead with purpose across the organisation and group
Familiarity with leading improvements that strengthen group performance
Experience in developing and implementing strategies to achieve equitable outcomes for Maori and leading others to do the same
To be honest, courageous, curious, resilient, self-aware and agile.
