Assignments are often managed on a multi-disciplinary basis utilising the skills and experience of auditors from more than one service line.
This role sits within the Financial Services team of the wider KPMG Audit division with clients being financial institutions including banks, finance companies, insurers and funds and fund managers.
The opportunity:
We are seeking aManagerin our Financial Services Audit team, where you will work directly with senior management and audit partners as well as collaborating with senior stakeholders both internally and externally to the firm. You'll expand your industry knowledge and deliver insights and best practices to our clients.
Day to day you will:
Audit assignment preparation and completion
Manage a portolfio of clients and audit assignments of a complex nature and/or higher risk and non-routine audits. In particular:
Undertake strategic analysis
Plan overall work requirements of an audit
Identify business and audit risks
Assess effectiveness of client processes and controls
Audit compliance
Ensure effective use and application of KPMG Audit Manuals, auditing standards, GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), and KPMG auditing software.
Technical learning and development
Develop and apply specialist technical skills and knowledge in particular audit areas eg, banking and finance, insurance, treasury.
Business development
Take a broad view of client needs, looking beyond own area of experience and know-how
Staff management
Coach, develop and support staff in the delivery of services to KPMG so that KPMG is able to meet its obligations to clients
What you'll bring to our team:
Previous experience delivering audit & assurance engagements for Financial institutions - Banking, Asset Management and/or Insurance
Hold membership with CAANZ/CPA or relevant overseas professional body
Previous experience coaching and mentoring junior team members
Ability to build meaningful relationships with clients, staff and partners
Ability to be flexible and adaptable within a team environment
A high level of self motivation, energy and drive with the ability to manage and meet work demands
Strong project management techniques including decision-making ability, analytical skills, time management, organisation and evaluative skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
